Max de Winter
Holland, 1949.

Studied at the Art Academy of St. Joost in Breda (diploma 1970).
His works are abstract/figurative, characterized by a smooth style of painting, combined with a simple colour palette. There is a permanent feeling for reality, leaving however enough space for suggestion.
‘I put up a number of works, quickly, rough and then the show starts. Fiddling about, constantly looking, always thinking it over. My subjects I find in moments and situations with non-interactive movement: still life with and without human figures. Often a lot of women, going in small groups, walking away, averted, but posing as well. Being an artist you reveal part of your thoughts.’
